Explained BNC Connector



A BNC cable connector may be a type of frequency (RF) connector used with coaxial cables. It is primarily utilized in radio, television, check instruments and video signals. BNC connectors ar ordinarily designed to control up to three GHz at seventy five Ohm.

BNC Connector Types
Not all BNC connectors are made the same. There ar many differing types of BNC connectors, designed with various methods of attachment. The different BNC connectors embrace the BNC Crimp on connector, the BNC twist on connector and the BNC compression connector.
BNC Crimp on connector is out there in 2 designs – two piece and three piece. To attach the BNC Crimp on connector onto a cable, additional tools needed are a coax cable stripper and a coax crimping tool.
Steps:
Slide the crimp cap piece of the connector onto cable, slimmer side first. Using a cable stripper, trim the jacket off the edge of the cable and peel it off. Fold the copper trimming over the long aspect of the cable. Next trim the inside insulation shielding the cable core. Slide the connector onto the cable. Fold braid back over crimp body and push crimp collet up over braid and crimp body. With the crimping tool, crimp ferrule to connector.
This is a very secure method and is widely used by installers.
A BNC twist on connector is convenient therein it wants no extra tools in order to be connected to the cable, except for a cable stripper. Once the cable is stripped, the rest of the work is done by hand.
Steps:
Strip the cable to reveal its inner core. Then Cut the plastic jacket to reveal the copper trimming, and fold the trimming over the plastic shielding. Slide the vacant inner core side of the cable into the BNC twist on connector and twist it clockwise to secure it.
A BNC compression connector comes within the once piece style or the F connector style. To install the once piece BNC connecter, you’ll need a stripper and a compression tool.
Steps:
Strip the jacket off the cable revealing the inner core of the cable. Next take the BNC compression connector and fell the inner core into the inner connector hole. Push the cable into the connector into place. The inner core can embark through the connector. Using a compression tool, insert the connector into place and squeeze it tight, while holding the cable in place.
